Before True Tone Studioz existed, Jay was cutting trailers for South Indian films. A film promotion agency in Mumbai that actually understands theatrical and OTT release cycles is rarer than it should be, most treat a film like any other product launch. We don't. Trailers, promotions and the whole pre-buzz run for a release get the instinct Jay built cutting trailers: a hook in the first second, and a cut that knows exactly when the release date needs to land on screen.
What we make for a release
For producers and studios heading into a theatrical or OTT release, we make:
Trailers and teasers, cut for the big screen and for a six-second scroll.
Promotions and pre-buzz, the drip of content before the release date.
Lyrical and jukebox videos.
Posters and celebrity shoots.
Music videos and mashups.
All of it in-house, from the same team, so the trailer, the posters and the songs sound like they belong to one release.
Where we work
Shoots, posters and celebrity shoots happen out of our own studio in Malad West, Mumbai, with cinema-line cameras and equipment we own. Edits and grading happen in-house too. For unit shoots or a release that needs us on a set elsewhere, we take our team and kit there, anywhere in India.
Why TTS
Jay started out cutting trailers for South Indian films and has since worked on 75+ films. That’s not a producer’s résumé, it’s an editor’s: years of knowing exactly which few seconds of a scene make someone buy a ticket, or press play.
We don’t name the releases we’ve worked on here, that’s between us and the studio, but the instinct shows up in every trailer we cut: find the hook, protect the twist, and never let the trailer run longer than it needs to. Growth is a RACE. We run all four legs, though a film release lives almost entirely on one of them: Reach. A trailer either gets seen and remembered, or it doesn’t, there’s no second chance once the release date passes. That’s the leg we’re built for.
How it works
Send your brief by the 20th: the film, the release date, what’s already cut.
We plan the promotion calendar backward from the release date, locked by the 25th.
You approve the trailer cut and promotions plan by the 28th.
We shoot and cut, largely between the 1st and the 7th.
Assets go out on the 8th, 15th, 22nd and 28th as the release approaches.
A report on the 5th shows how the promotion is landing.
FAQ
Do you work directly with production houses and studios, or only through agencies?
Directly. Producers and studios brief us the same way they’d brief an in-house promotions team.
Will you name the films you’ve worked on?
Not on this website. Release promotion is confidential between us and the studio. Jay’s own trailer and editing background, 75+ films worked on, speaks for the craft instead.
Do you cut trailers for OTT releases as well as theatrical?
Yes. Trailers, teasers and promotion content for both theatrical and OTT releases, cut for the platform each one runs on.
Can you shoot celebrity shoots and posters, or only cut trailers?
Both. Posters and celebrity shoots happen in our own studio in Malad West, with cinema-line cameras and equipment we own, alongside the trailer and promotions work.
How much does a promotion campaign cost?
We provide customized packages. A release promotion campaign is quoted against the release date and the deliverables the studio needs.
